KIRKLEES NEU DISTRICT ELECTIONS
The Kirklees NEU District is the main democratic structure of the NEU at local level. Membership of the District is open to all members who work or live in Kirklees. The Local District promotes the objects of the Union, supports reps and members, makes nominations in National and Regional elections, elects representatives for Annual Conference and can establish local support networks. The District is required to elect officers annually who serve for the following academic year. The vice-president serves as an officer for 3 years becoming president and past president in subsequent years. All roles can be role shared.

Nominations close at least 28 days before the date of the Annual General Meeting.
Nominations can be made by email to yorkshire&humber@neu.org.uk
Nominations must be signed or otherwise confirmed via email by the proposer, seconder and endorsed by the nominee. This can be an email from the proposer with seconder and nominee copied into the email.
Nominations can also be made in writing using the DISTRICT NOMINATION FORM and delivered to the NEU Regional Office, National Education Union, Yorkshire and Humber Region, Lazarus House, 14 Prince’s Street, Doncaster, DN1 3NJ, and need to be signed by the proposer, seconder, and nominee.

ELECTIONS FOR OFFICERS OF THE KIRKLEES MULTI-EMPLOYER (PUBLICLY FUNDED) BRANCH
The Kirklees NEU Branch is responsible for employer-based negotiation and casework representation for members. It is required to elect a branch secretary, assistant secretary and Health & Safety Officer annually. A vice-chairperson will be elected annually and will become chairperson the following year. All roles can be role shared.
